Haleh Redjaian is een Duits-Iraanse visuele en textiel kunstenares die werkt en woont in Berlijn. Voor haar is de lijn het begin van alles. De lijn verbindt het ene punt met het andere, bakent een ruimte af en biedt oneindige mogelijkheden voor het uitvinden van vormen, patronen en geometrische combinaties.
De werken situeren zich ergens tussen twee en drie dimensies. Ze maakt vaak in situ-installaties, maar ook in haar tekeningen en tapijten denkt Redjaian op een ruimtelijke manier. Elke drager is een ruimte: papier, textiel, of architectuur. In die zin maakt de kunstenaar dus geen onderscheid tussen tekenen op een blad of tekenen in de ruimte. Wat telt is perspectief: niet alleen mathematisch perspectief, maar ook een houding die we aannemen. Hoe staan we in de ruimte en hoe verhouden we ons tot een bepaald idee?

Haleh Redjaian is a German-Iranian visual and textile artist who lives and works in Berlin. For her, the line is the beginning of everything. The line connects one point to another, delineates a space and offers endless possibilities for inventing shapes, patterns and geometric combinations.
Her work is situated somewhere between two and three dimensions. She often creates in situ installations, but Redjaian also thinks spatially in her drawings and tapestries. Each support is a space: paper, textile, or architecture. In this sense, then, the artist makes no distinction between drawing on a sheet of paper or drawing in space. What matters is perspective: not just mathematical perspective, but also an attitude we adopt. How do we stand in space and how do we relate to a particular idea?
